How TowLynk collects and uses hauler and provider information.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Pettaway LLC, operating as TowLynk, collects, uses and shares information when you use the TowLynk app or website.
2. Information we collect
Account information (name, email, phone number, city and state); hauler trailer details; service request details, including the request location, description and photos; provider business information (business name, owner name, contact details, address, service categories, service area and radius, hours, years in business) and the license/registration and insurance documents a provider uploads as part of the provider application and document-review process; quotes and job records; ratings and reviews; browser or device push subscription information for the devices you enable; in-app messages; masked-call metadata (the participants, timestamps, duration or status and routing information); precise location as described in section 3; and basic technical and diagnostic data such as error reports.
2a. Google sign-in
You may choose to sign in using a third-party authentication provider such as Google. When you do, TowLynk may receive account identifiers and profile information made available through that sign-in flow — such as your name, email address and profile image — depending on the provider and your own settings. TowLynk does not receive your password for that account.
2b. Browser and device storage
TowLynk uses browser and local storage and similar technologies for authentication and session functionality, intended-role routing after sign-in, recording that a legal-acceptance step was completed, security and other essential app functionality. TowLynk does not use advertising cookies and does not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
3. Location data
TowLynk may use precise location. The location you set for a request is shared with providers matched to that request so they can quote and find you. You can see an assigned provider's live progress while a job is active. While you are online, TowLynk uses your device location to determine which nearby requests you are eligible for and, on an active job, to show your live progress to that hauler. Turning off online status stops eligibility matching from your live location. A Provider's precise location may be used while the Provider is online or available and during an active service, as currently implemented. Location supports matching, dispatch, maps and navigation, arrival estimates and live service visibility. Location data may be inaccurate or delayed, and provider live location is used for eligibility only when it is recent; stale location is not used to invent a distance or an arrival estimate.
4. How we use information
To create and operate accounts; to match requests with nearby providers; to enable quoting, approval and job tracking; to review provider application documents and manage provider status; to connect masked calls; to send in-app and push notifications about requests, quotes, jobs and account status; to run ratings and provider quality review; to support payment functionality if and when TowLynk enables it; to investigate complaints, disputes, safety concerns, abuse and suspected fraud; to provide support; to keep the service secure; and to operate, debug and improve TowLynk.
5. What other users can see
Haulers see a matched or assigned provider's business name, photo, service area, vehicle description, ratings, review count and live job progress — not their email, personal phone number or street address. Providers see the request details, request location and hauler name they need to perform a job they are matched with or assigned to. Personal phone numbers are not exchanged: calls are bridged through a TowLynk number.
5a. Messages and calls
Calls placed in TowLynk are connected through a TowLynk phone number. Your personal number is not shared with the other party, and theirs is not shared with you. Call records (time, duration and the parties involved) are kept for support, safety and abuse investigations. Standard carrier rates may apply. In-app messages you send through TowLynk may be stored. Masked-call metadata may include the participants, timestamps, duration or status and routing information. TowLynk does not record call audio.
5b. Push notifications
If you enable notifications, TowLynk stores the browser or device push subscription information needed to deliver platform notifications to that device. You can turn push notifications off in the app or in your browser or device settings.
6. Payment information
TowLynk does not currently process service payments through the platform. Until in-app payments are enabled, Haulers and Providers are responsible for arranging payment directly with each other. TowLynk does not currently authorize, hold, capture, transfer, refund or otherwise control those service-payment funds. Any direct payment arrangement is between the Hauler and the Provider. TowLynk will notify users before in-app payment processing becomes available and any applicable payment terms take effect. Because TowLynk does not currently process service payments, TowLynk does not currently collect payment-card or bank-account credentials from Haulers. A Provider who chooses to complete payment-account setup does so with a third-party payment processor, and that processor — not TowLynk — collects and processes the payout and identity information it requires; TowLynk retains only the status of that setup and a processor reference identifier. If TowLynk enables in-app payments, TowLynk expects to retain only the payment information needed to operate the marketplace, such as the approved amount, the platform fee and provider share, transaction status, a processor reference identifier and non-sensitive descriptors such as card brand and last four digits where the processor provides them. TowLynk does not store complete payment-card numbers or bank-account credentials.
7. Service providers we use
We use third parties to operate the product, in these operational categories: cloud, database, hosting and file storage; authentication; mapping and geolocation; communications and calling; push notification infrastructure; and payment processing when it is enabled. They process information on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms and security obligations.
8. Other disclosures
We may share information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, protect the rights, safety or property of users, TowLynk or the public, investigate fraud or abuse, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Notifications and your choices
You control push notifications through the toggle in the app and your device or browser settings; turning them off does not stop in-app notifications. You control location sharing through your device permissions. You can review and update your profile and provider business information in the app. To request access to or deletion of your account data, email support@towlynk.app.
10. Security
Access to data is restricted by row-level database policies so users reach only their own records, providers reach only the requests they are matched with, and admins reach what they need to review provider applications. Provider documents are stored in a private bucket. Call records containing phone numbers are not readable through the client API — only server-side functions and admins with audit access can reach them. Payment records follow the same principle: no client write paths, and no exposure of processor credentials or secrets in the app.
11. Retention
TowLynk retains each category of information only for as long as reasonably necessary for purposes including providing the platform; maintaining transaction and service history; safety and security; fraud and abuse prevention; dispute resolution; legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations; and enforcing our agreements. Retention periods may differ by record type — for example, account records, service request and job records, provider application and document-review records, masked-call metadata, location history, reviews and any payment records may each be kept for different periods. Requesting account deletion does not necessarily require immediate deletion of records TowLynk must retain, or reasonably needs to retain, for legal, security or dispute purposes.
12. Your privacy choices, children and cross-jurisdiction processing
You may contact support@towlynk.app to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or for other privacy assistance, where applicable. TowLynk may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction and are subject to applicable exceptions, so not every right is available to every user; TowLynk will respond as required by applicable law, and you may appeal a decision or exercise additional rights where applicable law provides them. TowLynk does not knowingly offer the platform for use by children under 18 as account holders, and you must meet the age requirement in the Terms of Use. If TowLynk learns that it collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable requirements, it will take reasonable steps to address or delete that information as required. The service is presently intended for use in the United States; if information is processed across jurisdictions, appropriate safeguards will be used as required by applicable law.
13. Changes and contact
